Hehe

Jocleyn in a very concerned voice: "Mom, I used your chapstick today and the label... it said....drug facts."  Me and my chapstick-it is an addiction.  I had to explain that not all drugs are bad.
FYI Softlips is the best brand out there.

My grandma passed away not too long ago.  She was the last of my grandparents to go.  I'm actually happy that she gets to be back with my grandpa.  My heart breaks when husband and wife are separated by death.  Anyhow, getting back to the funny.  Logan said to me, "I feel bad for you.  All your relators are gone."
Cute.

Ethan was telling one of my kids to be careful because they could choke (I wish I could remember on what or why but it really isn't important).  Then Logan, a bit pretentious, said "You can only choke when you brush your teeth."  Yeah. He's got a sensitive gag reflex.

Summer Hunting

We do a sort of summer bucket list with our kids each year.  When school gets out we let each kid choose something they want to do for the summer. We actually have them give us two choices so we are able to control cost and time...a little. So that's what we did in the car on our way up to grandma's for Sunday dinner.  Logan said his first choice is to go Geod Hunting (one of our adventures from last year that I will immediatley dismiss this year) and that his second choice is to go to Seven Peaks. Then Canon piped in with his two choices.  "My first choice is to go to Seven Peaks and my second choice is going hunting...."
Hunting?? (we are not a hunting family) That's interesting.
"For candy."
Oh.

Cinnamon Pull Apart Bread and My New App

Ryen asked if she could make something.  I told her she could if she found something that we had all the ingredients for and that I wouldn't be helping. Well when she chose this and she wasn't following the recipe very well, I did end up helping. But who can resist cinnamon pull apart bread, right?

Effects of the pic are courtesy of my new camera + app. Fun.

Wedding Inserts

Cute right? It helps when there's really great pics...

Kamden's Announcement

and insert.

Deep Thoughts by Jocelyn (or maybe not so deep this time)

We were reading this scripture during our family scripture study:

Alma 43:8
For behold, his designs were to stir up the Lamanites to anger against the Nephites; this he did that he might usurp great power over them, and also that he might gain power over the Nephites by bringing them into bondage.

I explained what "designs" meant and then asked them to listen for the designs of the Lamanites as I reread the scripture.  I did so and then asked "So, what were the Lamanite's designs?" Jocelyn answered, "Their designs were to boil the Nephites."

Reread the scripture. You'll get it.

Boil. Stir. Same diff.

Canon Sillies

Canon was sitting on Brian's lap at church and was looking at the hair on his arms. He looked at him kind of disgusted and asked, "What's that?" Bri said "Its hair." He sat there and thought about it and then said as he pointed to the top of his head "So, did it fall from on top of there to down onto there? And did it stayed?"  "Yep," Bri said, "It'll happen to you too some day."
That's a scary thought for a kid.

I Pitty the Fool

Check out this webpage for fun April Fool's pranks.  Most are harmless.  I particularly love #28.

Primary Thank You's

I made this to insert with some magnets in a bag to give our primary teachers as a thank you.  We figured magnets were a useful gift.

We Love the Friend Magazine

Ethan wanted to make these pretzels from the friend magazine. I haven't eaten it yet (fast Sunday) but Ethan has reported they are good and we need to adopt it into our family recipe book.

Satisfactory Parent Teacher Conferences

I'm happy to report the kids are all doing well. Ethan and Jocelyn had all E's. Ethan feels he's perfect and doesn't need to work on anything. Or at least he couldn't think of anything to work on when it came time to set a goal. Same with Joc :) It's pretty much true though. They are both good, smart kids. Ryen had some S's (satisfactory's-which is like a C) on hers and her teacher had some funny information about Ryen having a new boyfriend each week. Well this being the case, I told the kids maybe we should start paying for E's. Ethan thought that would be satisfactory. His words.

A Must Read!

Took the kids to the library today.  Logan gave me a couple of books he wanted to check out.  I just added them to the bottom of my pile.  While checking out I noticed this book:

Let's Talk About Having Asthma (The Let's Talk Library)

I laughed and told the librarian that I wasn't paying attention to what my kids were adding to the pile.  She asked if I wanted her to check it back in.  I flipped through it.  (I don't know, maybe there was something gripping about it.)  Nope.
If anyone is interested it is 21.25 on Amazon.

Deep Thoughts by Jocelyn

So we were having a serious conversation with our children about stranger danger. When we were all finished we noticed that Jocelyn had carved us a picture in our chair.  When we asked her what she was thinking she replied, "There was just nothing to do."
Uh, how about listen?

About Me

My photo
I love being a wife to an incredible husband and mother of 5 insanely cute kids! I love to be creative. Things I love to create include cute kids, attractive home, interesting photography, and anything in photoshop. This list is subject to change at anytime and only happens when time, money and energy permit! Other things I enjoy include reading, watching favorite shows together with the hubby, listening, dancing & cleaning to music, eating out (or in as long as I can enjoy someone else's cooking), organizing the house and laughing with my husband and kids. Things I don't particularly enjoy are grocery shopping, laundry for 7 people, and seeing a dirty bathroom counter right after I clean it. In general life makes me crazy sometimes but most times I feel insanely blessed and complete!
